Commercial LED Lighting Solutions

Commercial lighting is fixed LED lighting specified for business premises against measurable targets — lux for the task, colour rendering, glare and compliance. KELVANO manufactures the full fixture set for these spaces (track, linear, downlight, tri-proof and high bay) and backs each scheme with measured IES files for the core SKUs and DIALux layouts on qualified projects. Below, we match every common commercial space to its design target and the right fixtures — then quote it factory-direct in 48 hours.

Start from the target, then select the fixtures. These are the design levels we build to:

Space Design target Recommended solution
Retail & shops 750–1000 lx + accent 1500–3000 lx Track lighting + downlights
Supermarkets 750–1000 lx Linkable linear battens
Warehouse & industrial 200–300 lx High bay + tri-proof
Offices 500 lx · UGR <19 Panels & linear
Showrooms 300–500 lx · CRI ≥ 90 Ultra-slim linear
Emergency EN 50172 · 3-hr battery Emergency fittings & bulkheads

For the full standards table across retail, warehouse and office, see the lux levels guide.

Lighting by application

This page is the hub — jump to the space you are specifying:

  • Retail & shop lighting — track and accent for fashion, display and chains, with a display-case module for jewellery.
  • Warehouse & industrial lighting — high bay and tri-proof for racking, docks and cold stores, with an energy-comparison calculator.
  • Showroom lighting — ultra-slim linear and Ra90 spots for automotive and gallery display.
  • Emergency lighting — EN 50172-compliant 3-hour fittings, bulkheads and kits for commercial buildings.

Match fixtures to the task

A good commercial scheme layers three jobs:

  • Ambient — general working light to the target lux: linear battens over supermarkets and open floors, panels in offices, high bay in warehouses.
  • Accent — drawing the eye to product and feature zones: 3-circuit track spots at Ra90, with beam angle chosen to ceiling height.
  • Compliance & circulation — downlights for corridors and back-of-house, plus EN 50172 emergency and fire-rated options where the building requires them.

Why specify with KELVANO

Most suppliers hand you a fixture. We hand you a scheme you can defend: recommended lux per space, a DIALux layout that predicts the result, measured IES files for the core SKUs, and CE plus a GPSR responsible person on the compliance side. One manufacturer covers the whole building — track, linear, downlight, tri-proof, high bay and emergency — consolidated into one order, one set of documents and one 5-year warranty. That is what a procurement manager or main contractor actually needs from a commercial lighting supplier.

FAQ

Questions from specifiers

What counts as commercial lighting?
Commercial lighting is fixed LED lighting specified for business premises — shops, supermarkets, warehouses, offices, showrooms, hotels and schools — rather than domestic use. It is chosen against measurable criteria: target lux for the task, colour rendering (Ra/CRI), glare control (UGR), colour temperature, and compliance with standards such as EN 12464-1 for workplaces and EN 50172 for emergency lighting. KELVANO manufactures the fixture families that cover these spaces and provides the photometrics to prove the design.
How many lux does a commercial space need?
It depends on the task. As a working guide: retail sales floors 750–1000 lx with accent up to 3000 lx, supermarkets 750–1000 lx, warehouses 200–300 lx (higher over pick faces), offices 500 lx at UGR <19, showrooms 300–500 lx at CRI ≥90, and emergency escape routes to EN 50172. We build the scheme to your target and can prove it in DIALux before you order.
Can you provide a DIALux lighting layout?
Yes — DIALux layout support is available on qualified projects. Send a floor plan with dimensions, ceiling height and target lux, and our engineers return a fixture layout with predicted lux and uniformity, plus the matching IES files for the core SKUs. That lets you specify with confidence and gives your buyer an auditable basis for the order.
Do you supply mixed projects with several fixture types?
Yes. Most commercial projects need more than one family — track for accent, linear for ambient, downlights for circulation, high bay or tri-proof for back-of-house. We consolidate those into one order, one set of documents and one warranty, which is simpler to buy and to maintain than sourcing each family separately.
Are your commercial fixtures compliant for the UK and EU?
Fixtures carry CE marking (LVD, EMC, RoHS), and we appoint a GPSR responsible person for the EU, mandatory since December 2024. Fire-rated downlight options are available for UK projects governed by BS 476. EPREL energy-label registration and country-level WEEE are handled per market — tell us where you intend to sell and we confirm the current position before you order.
